It's not long after the announcements that Corvo knocks on his new warden's door.
He's got a walking stick with him, but doesn't lean on it. Doesn't even need it anymore, but it makes for a good weapon in a pinch.

The knock apparently sets off an alarm, in the form of a puppy's shrill barks suddenly going wild behind the door, and Richter's voice trying not to laugh.
"Tiffany- Tiff, au pied-- au pied! Assis-?" And the barking stops. "Good girl - er, the door's unlocked." Obviously aimed at Corvo that time. "Come on in."

The sound of barking instantly puts him on alert, the sound of the watch dogs loud and piercing in his ears. His grip on the stick tightens, but he opens the door anyway.
"Call it off," he says firmly.

'It' is sitting obediently next to Richter, wiggling intently in place. It's obviously still a puppy, still in the lumpy baby phase, and barely up to Richter's knee. But then, Richter's tall so.
"Ooooh, yeah, she's terrifying," he coos, squatting to give her a treat. "Watch out or your kneecaps are gonna get licked to pieces."
He finally actually looks at Corvo. "What're you doing here, anyway?"

Corvo is still tense to the point where his shoulders ache. But he raises his head, looking down to him as he gives the thing a treat.

"Oh, fuck, was that today?" He pulls his communicator out to double-check it. Just because he knows it's basically a magic billboard doesn't mean he remembers to check it frequently.
